A.  Depending on the number of registered athletes, a track meet can be an all day event.  Smaller meets usually start around 7am or 8am and end around 3pm or 4pm.  Larger meets can start as early as 7am and end as late as 8pm or 9pm.

A.  Runners should not consume any milk or dairy products before or during a meet.  Please provide fruit, veggies, water, juice and a good source of protein for your runner(s).  Pay close attention to the salt content in the items you bring for your athlete.  Gatorade is good for replacing electrolytes AFTER a run. Please encourage your athlete to consume as much water as possible to stay hydrated before, during and after any meet or practice.

Throwers and Jumpers should also watch what they consume prior to competing. If you stick the items listed above for runners, your athlete should have all the nutrients and energy they need to have a successful meet.
